Location: Sunshine Terrace Foundation

Job Type: Full-time

Overview: As the Housekeeping and Laundry Manager at the Sunshine Terrace Foundation, you will oversee all aspects of housekeeping and laundry operations. You will be responsible for managing both departments, including staff supervision, scheduling, inventory management, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Customer Service: Foster a culture of exceptional customer service among housekeeping and laundry staff, encouraging positive interactions with residents, families, and staff members.
  2. Staff Management: Supervise, train, and evaluate housekeeping and laundry staff, ensuring they adhere to facility policies and procedures.
  3. Scheduling: Develop and maintain schedules for housekeeping and laundry staff to ensure adequate coverage for all areas of the facility.
  4. Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections of resident rooms, common areas, and laundry facilities to ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  5. Inventory Management: Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, laundry detergents, linens, and other related items, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained at all times.
  6. Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and infection control protocols related to housekeeping and laundry operations.
  7. Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and repair of housekeeping and laundry equipment.
  8. Budget Management: Assist in the development and management of the housekeeping and laundry department budgets.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in housekeeping and laundry management, preferably in a healthcare or senior living environment.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and empower team members. Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with Staff, Residents, and families.
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, laundry procedures, sanitation practices, and infection control protocols.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to housekeeping and laundry operations, such as OSHA, CDC, and state health department guidelines.
  • Proficiency in computer software applications, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments to achieve organizational goals.

Physical Requirements:

  • This is a physical position. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift heavy objects (up to 45 lbs.) as needed.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
