JOB TITLE: HOUSEKEEPING LAUNDRY ATTENDANT

PURPOSE AND PERFORMANCE GOALS
Ensures the guest rooms and public areas of the hotel have the proper linens to exceed brand standards for cleanliness, and that the laundry staff exceeds brand standards for friendliness and helpfulness to their fellow employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To work as a member of the laundry department providing and maintaining a clean and sanitary laundry product for guests as well as maintaining the cleanliness of all equipment properly and reporting any equipment concerns or problems to the engineering department. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Loads articles into washer and adds specified amount of
detergent, soap or other cleaning agent by programming
laundry machines.
- Operates laundry machinery such as washers, driers and ironers.
- Starts machine that automatically washes and rinses articles.
- Lifts clean, wet articles from washer and places them
successively into driers for measured time cycles.
- Sorts dried articles according to type.
- Folds and places items in appropriate storage area.
- Sorts torn and stained articles.
- Sorts and counts articles to verify quantities on laundry
requisitions.
- Soaks contaminated articles and processes in de-staining cycle.
- Cleans lint traps and sweeps laundry room
- Cross train as House-person and room attendant.

REASONING ABILITY
Must be able to make appropriate judgments relative to the process of supporting the cleanliness of the hotel linen supply.

Must be able to push/pull/lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to use hands, arms, and fingers. Frequently requires standing for an extended period of time, as well as reaching, grabbing, pulling and grasping.
HOURS
Due to the business demands of the hospitality industry, and the fact that the hotel provides guest services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, any employee may be required to work rotating shifts, including weekends, night shifts, and/or overtime. Also, depending on business demands, hours may be reduced at any time.
