Housekeeping Attendant

JOB SUMMARY:

In cooperation with other housekeeping staff, responsible for the cleanliness of assigned rooms.

MAJOR/KEY JOB FUNCTIONS (includes but is not limited to):

• Oversee the housekeeping cart, maintaining supplies.
• Enter guest rooms following procedures for gaining access and ensuring vacancy before entering.
• Replace guest amenities and supplies in rooms.
• Replace dirty linens and terry with clean items. Make beds with fresh linen.
• Clean the bathrooms and ensure new articles (including soap and towels) are placed.
• Remove trash and dirty linen.
• Check that all appliances are present in the room and in working order.
• Straighten desk items, furniture, and appliances.
• Dust polish and remove marks from walls and furnishings.
• Vacuum carpets in guest rooms and hallway.
• Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures.
• Report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
• Properly store chemicals including flammable materials.
• Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Pick up room reports and keys to assigned areas daily. All keys must be signed in the key sign-out log.
• Checked out rooms will be done first; the only exception to this is a special request.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School GED or Equivalent
• Minimum 1-year relevant experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Must be able to lift, push, pull, carry, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Must be able to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stopping as well as stand, sit and/or walk for any extended period.
• The hotel operates 24 hours a day, 7 days per week and any time it may be necessary to move associates from their accustomed shift as business demands.
