Job description

This Housekeeping Aid Supervisor is under the direct supervision of the Environmental Management Services (EMS) General Foreman, Department of Veterans Affairs Corporal Michael J. Crescenz (CMCVAMC). The primary responsibility of the Housekeeping Aid Supervisor is to serve as a working supervisor within the Environmental Management Service and to provide unit supervision of Environmental Management Staff at any of the CMCVAMC divisions/campuses and or facilities.Qualifications: To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 12/14/2023.
Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualifications. For this position, the job element method is used to match what you, the applicant, can do against what the work calls for. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: The incumbent is subjected to a great deal of walking, standing, bending, stooping, and climbing stairs. Visual acuity must be sufficient to see and recognize evidence of unsanitary conditions. Usually works in a well-lit, climate-controlled building but may be exposed to the outside elements periodically. The Housekeeping Aid Supervisor is expected to cover other units and may have to make use of government buses or vehicles to travel to another geographic location up request, attend meetings on other campus as requested. Utilizes radio, cell phone or phone and responds to service calls. Uses computers frequently for documents, email, timekeeping, HR Smart actions.Education: Not applicable.Employment Type: FULL_TIME
