Job Summary: We are currently looking for a Full-Time Housekeeper. This person has to be organized, and show great attention to detail. This person is supervised by the Maintenance Director and provides professional housekeeping services to our residents and is responsible for the over all cleanliness of the property and general work areas of the building. Must have the ability to organize and document work, assume responsibility, and understand the work schedule. We have a team of 3 housekeepers, one per floor.
Hours: 8a-4p
The Housekeeper works primarily Monday-Friday. MQA is a 24 hour facility, so this position works every 3rd weekend, rotating with the other housekeepers.
Essential Duties: The essential duties listed below are the minimal requirements in this position. However, that is not meant to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities required of the Housekeeper. Other duties may be assigned to perform within the overall assigned role of Housekeeper or as needed. These duties may include but are not limited to the following:
- Performs general housekeeping duties in resident apartments such as: vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, kitchens and dusting of surfaces.
- Responsible for the housekeeping in the hallways, bathrooms, common areas, and windows of property.
- Responsible to work with residents on scheduling of housekeeping services within their apartment.
- Assist in the training and orientation of new staff.
- Makes daily and periodic rounds to observe for housekeeping needs as they arise.
- Performs all assigned daily tasks and keeps documentation of what rooms have been cleaned during a shift.
- Responsible for maintaining daily logs and reporting to Operations director any concerns.
- Responds to emergency situations as directed by supervisor.
- Assist with preventive maintenance where needed and as directed.
- Prepares rooms for admission, transfers, and discharges to meet standards of facility.
- Helps monitor for state compliance with safety standards.
- Coordinate services with the activities of other departments.
- Able to coordinate and manage a schedule.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma required
- Experience as a Residential Housekeeper preferred.
Preferred experience working with seniors in a long term care community.
- Minimum of 18 years of age.
- Knowledge of safety precautions and use of chemicals as it pertains to OSHA regulations
Physical Demands:
- Able to be on feet standing or walking 8-12 hours per day.
- Able to sit in one position for 3-4 hours at a time.
- Able to lift 60-70 lbs. on occasional basis.
- Able to bend, stoop, squat, twist numerous times daily.
- Able to speak in clear, concise voice in order to communicate with residents who may be hearing impaired.
- Able to carry out fine motor skills and manual dexterity.
- Able to see and hear adequately in order to respond to auditory and visual request from residents.

Pay: $13.50 - $16.50 per hour
