Monday - Friday
5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining designated areas of the hospital and clinics in accordance with safety and infection control standards, policies, and regulations.
Maintains cleanliness of the hospital and clinics (Holton, Hoyt, Wetmore) including clinical areas, patient rooms, emergency department, exam rooms, public areas, hallways, waiting rooms, offices, restrooms, reception areas, and specialty areas.
Specific duties include, but not limited to, sweep and mop floors, vacuum and clean carpet and upholstery, dust and/or wipe-off furniture and equipment, cleaning and disinfecting restroom fixtures, sinks, toilets, emptying trash using protocol for disposal of infectious waste as needed, disposing of filled sharps container according to hazardous protocol and replacing with new containers. Washes walls, windows, doors, ceilings, woodwork, and light fixtures. Replaces soiled drapes and cubicle curtains.
Functions as a team member with peers, other employees, and all departments to meet the individual needs of each patient and department. Maintains a customer friendly environment by treating all individuals with dignity, respect, and concern for their well-being.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- The employee is regularly required to stand, talk, hear, use hands, reach, walk, bend, kneel, crouch/squat, twist, maintain balance, grasp and use keyboard. Employee will frequently be required to stand for long periods of time. Must lift or move housekeeping supplies and equipment, furniture, and other types of equipment. Must be able to climb on ladders and reach overhead for general cleaning duties. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. and regularly lift up to 20 lbs.
