Cleans and dusts residents’ rooms, bathroom, and other assigned areas. Uses specified chemicals and cleaning solutions when necessary. Sweeps, dusts, mops and vacuums. No supervisor Functions
- Keeps assigned area neat, and clutter-free
- Cleans and dusts residents’ rooms, bathrooms, hallways, whirlpool, and other assigned areas.
- Empties trash cans and replaces liners
- Assists in cleaning tables and chairs in the dining area
- Deep-Cleans in assigned areas, using specified chemicals and cleaning solutions
- Washes furnishings, floors, and equipment with designed cleaning solutions and disinfectants.
- Scours and polishes sinks, tubs, mirrors, and similar equipment on a daily basis
- Cleans windows and walls at least once a month, and more often as necessary
- Turns mattresses as needed, requesting help when necessary.
- Sweeps, mops, and vacuums in assigned areas on a daily basis
- Moves furniture and other equipment at least once a week, requesting help necessary
- Uses housekeeping and floor care equipment appropriately
- Uses dust cloths, vacuum cleaners, wet mops, dry mops and other floor care equipment
- Notices when repairs are needed and completes maintenance request forms
- Washes and dries resident’ laundry
- Collects and sorts resident’s laundry according to favric type and desired water temperature
- Washes residents’ laundry, pre-treating, spot-cleaning, or soaking clothing when necessary
- Folds or hangs laundry and returns to the appropriate place
- Maintains work-area and supplies in an organized manner.
- Replaces cleaning and paper supplies, and hand soaps, and other supplies as needed.
- Keeps work area neat
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Prior experience in institutional cleaning is helpful
- Must be able to spend most of the day walking, standing, stooping, or bending
- Be able to lift at least 50 pounds
