General Information:
Job title: Housekeeper
Location: Mile Bluff Medical Center, Mile Bluff Clinic
Position: Full-time, 80 hours per pay period; Multiple shifts available
Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend Weekend shift differential is available
Holiday Rotation: Every other holiday
Position Summary:
Responsible for cleaning and servicing assigned areas. Willing to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis as assigned, observing proper cleaning and disinfecting techniques. Responsible for assigned tasks including: vacuuming, mopping, dusting, wiping counters, general cleaning (hallways, lobby, meeting rooms, bathrooms, etc.), collecting trash and other duties, as necessary.
Position Responsibilities:
- Assembles materials and supplies from the supply room and transports them to the work area.
- Cleans assigned areas by washing furnishings and equipment, and mopping floors with special cleaning solutions and disinfectants to prevent the spread of disease.
- Uses damp, disinfectant-treated clothes and vacuum cleaner to dust window sills, blinds, floors, furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion.
- Scours and polishes sinks, tubs, mirrors, and similar equipment.
- Replenishes supplies of soap, towels, and other dispensable items.
- Requests help in moving heavy furniture and turning mattresses. Reports any mechanical failures or negative conditions observed in assignment areas to maintenance.
- Washes walls and ceilings using water, cleaning solution, sponge and clothes.
- Gathers and disposes of trash in dumpster, washes wastebaskets and large refuse containers, and relines with plastic bag.
- Change linen as indicated in assigned area and work with linen department in relation to clean linen distribution and dirty linen collection.
- Periodically clean floors using a floor machine.
- May be asked to clean outside windows.
- Respond to drills and incidents as part of the security team.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Knowledge in environmental services equipment and proper handling of cleaning chemicals, preferred.
- Valid state drivers license and MBMC insurable
