Housekeeper Full Time Days Floor Care Experience Preferred

Set on a 36-acre campus in Commack, NY, the Gurwin Healthcare System includes the 460-bed Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, providing short-term rehabilitation and long-term skilled nursing care, memory care, respiratory and ventilator care, palliative and hospice care, social and medical adult day programs, and on-site dialysis and infusion therapy. Sharing the campus is Gurwin’s Assisted Living community (Gurwin Jewish ~ Fay J. Lindner Residences) and independent living community (Fountaingate Gardens)as well as our Certified Home Health and Licensed Home Care Services Agencies.

DAY SHIFT 9:00AM-5:00PM with ROTATING WEEKENDS

Our innovative facility and growing services offer opportunities to advance your career. We are currently seeking a full-time Housekeeper for our day shift (9:00AM-5:00PM) who will embody the passion and commitment required to deliver the ultimate care for our residents.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Duties include keeping assigned areas clean, sanitary and aseptic by scouring, scrubbing, mopping, polishing, using germicides, including wet and dry dusting.
• Candidate must have the ability to use equipment and keep it neat and clean according to department requirements.

Requirements include:

• Experience in Floor Care in a hospital or nursing home preferred.
• Candidates with experience in a hospital or nursing home preferred.
• Knowledge of the dementia population and dealing with related behaviors.
• Understands written and oral instruction.
• Understands and absorbs new work methods.
• Capable of completing schedules effectively.
• Capable of standing and walking for prolonged periods of time.
