Job Description and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Environmental Services Supervisor, incumbent is responsible for the daily cleaning of all resident rooms and bathrooms on assigned neighborhoods. Collect trash, clean Nurses’ station, lounge, refrigerator, soiled and clean utility rooms, rest rooms and other assigned public areas. Clean central bath and shower room according to procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities

- Performs the cleaning of resident rooms after discharges. For any resident in isolation, follow special cleaning procedures according to the type of isolation.
- Orders supplies and equipment from storeroom as needed.
- Provides the nursing staff with necessary supplies.
- Maintain equipment in good working condition and returns it to proper location after use.
- Keeps record of special duties and, if extra help is needed, calls supervisor.
- Follows all safety and sanitation regulation and practices.
- Assist nursing staff in fire drills and in the event of an emergency or fire.
- Attends all required in-service training programs.
- Reports to supervisor any special housekeeping and maintenance requests.
- Informs supervisor about any unusual occurrences concerning employees and residents’ health and well-being.
- Communicates effectively with residents and staff.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- General knowledge of proper cleaning methods in a medical facility including proper use of supplies and equipment.
- Basic knowledge of the safe operation and proper use of housekeeping machinery, tools, supplies, and equipment.
- Basic knowledge of human relations and communication skills.
- Requires ability to accurately plan work routine and complete assigned duties in allotted time with appropriate supervisory assistance.
- Ability to carry out directions and follow schedule.
- Requires physical ability to push equipment and linen cart and to move light furniture.
- Requires ability to work in team approach.
- Requires one year of experience in housekeeping.
- Must have the ability to read, write, speak English in an understandable manner.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
Hours
Saturday & Sunday, 7:00am-3:30pm (Option to do every other weekend OR every weekend)
Pay
$16.00 per hour
