Saint Joseph Hospital is a 433-bed facility located in Lexington Kentucky. Founded in 1877 a small group of Sisters of Charity of Nazareth in Kentucky led by Sister Euphrasia Stafford began their health ministry. Their mission was to provide compassionate care to the poor and underserved – a tradition still carried out today. Saint Joseph Hospital primarily serves central and eastern Kentucky with a full range of services including distinguished awards for cardiology orthopedics and stroke care. Expectations

• Supervises assigned professional, technical, and clerical staff of the department to ensure the quality of work.
• Manages the workflow of the unit to ensure the delivery of quality patient care.
• Implements and supports quality improvement activities for the department.
• Develops staffing patterns and ensures availability of sufficient qualified staff to meet patient care needs.
• Works to develop and retain highly skilled and well-rounded staff including orienting, training, directing work, evaluatin

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) in Nursing from an accredited nursing college or program
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license cleared by the Kentucky Board of Nursing or with eNLC multi-state practice privilege
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required to obtain within 90 days post hire
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• NIHSS certificationMinimum of 3 years RN experience required. 
• Minimum of 2 years leadership (i.e. RN-Charge) experience required.
• Equivalent leadership capabilities will be considered in lieu of the leadership experience requirement based on executive leadership approval. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)

5 years of experience in acute care or in Critical Care nursing
