We are looking for a Houseman - General Maintenance person to join our team at El Caminante Bar & Bungalows located off Pacific Coast Highway 101 in Capistrano Beach, California. Be a part of the fun and join the opening team starting this Summer.

The General House Attendant will provide guests with an effortless and memorable experience that lets them know they are valued and cared for. This role will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining the hotel primarily the guest rooms as assigned as well as other areas of the hotel including public spaces back of the house areas and outside spaces of the hotel.
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for assisting with the operation maintenance service and repair of equipment as assigned. He/she is also responsible for participating in the preventative maintenance program handling guest requests and other work orders as assigned. He/she is also responsible for performing the job in a safe and efficient manner and performing trade jobs such as carpentry painting plumbing etc. May require driving shuttle van when needed (property specific).

Responsibilities
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
- Exceptional communication skills and enjoy caring for others and working in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive friendly and upbeat with the ability to deliver service authentically and looking to make a career in hospitality
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail speed and accuracy
- Ability to move perform frequent and repetitive movements including bending and stooping
- Must be able to lift push and pull a moderate weight frequently
- Ability to scrub and scour surfaces extending arms over head to perform cleaning tasks and work in confined spaces.
- Ability to follow instructions directions and meet deadlines including the thorough cleaning of the minimum number of rooms assigned
- Basic ability to comprehend English language sufficient to understand information such as labels and instructions and basic guest requests
- Previous cleaning experience preferred
- Must have the ability to work a varied schedule that may include early morning evening night and weekend shifts
HOUSE-PERSON JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: (3 DAYS PER WEEK)
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly service-oriented manner.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Aimbridge Hospitality standards as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working (per brand standards).
- Comply at all times with Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Provide/replenish amenities and supplies in assigned guestrooms
- Complete all pre-cleaning duties including but not limited to guest supplies cleaning supplies and linen for housekeeping cart set-up.
- Remove all trash and dirty linen from guest rooms.
- Perform other tasks/jobs as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
- May be required to disassemble furniture or items in the guest room to conduct deep cleaning.
- Deep cleaning tasks may include but are not limited to changing the AC filter cleaning the AC coils touching up paint on walls/molding touching up scratched furniture or rehanging closed slide doors.
- Assists in keeping the lobby area clean, neat and free of debris and trash as needed.
- Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes. vacuums and polishes floor.
- Strips soiled linen from beds when asked to support housekeepers.
- Refills the par stock of guest amenities and supplies on each housekeeping storage area.
- Transports clean linen to the housekeeping storage rooms on the floors and refills the par stock.
- Walks all assigned floors at beginning, throughout the day and end of shift to collect trash, soiled linen and other items as assigned by management.
- Report maintenance issues to Supervisor immediately
- As required deliver messages packages amenities or other items requested by guests or team members
- Store and retrieve luggage or packages for guests from the appropriate storage areas as needed.
- Interact with hotel associates in a professional manner assisting other departments with necessary information
- Listen and respond to guest inquiries in a professional and courteous manner, offer assistance
MAINTENANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: (2 DAYS PER WEEK)
- Assist with the operation maintenance and repair of equipment.
- Change out light bulbs; perform preventative maintenance for guest rooms to include: vinyl repair touch up paint minor furniture repair tub caulking tile repairs etc.
- Perform preventative maintenance for ice machines refrigerators kitchen equipment laundry equipment HVAC guestrooms
- Perform plumbing repair laundry equipment repair preventative maintenance on all exhaust fans and supply; monitor energy conservation; repair vacuum cleaners and any other small equipment upon request.
- Immediately follow up on any alarms to determine the exact location and cause - determine emergency status and report to the Front Desk with findings.
- Perform other tasks/jobs as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
