Position Summary:
The Floor Technician duties are specializing in the stripping, waxing and cleaning of all floors and stairwells, the position works specifically in Wanek Center and Panther Commons. This position may also include: general cleaning, pulling trash, dusting, cleaning restrooms, vacuuming, and other cleaning duties.The main component of the job task is to ensure floors and stairwells in Wanek Center and Panther Commons are thoroughly maintained.
Responsibilities:
- General Cleaner cleans bathrooms, conference rooms, meeting rooms, space, etc., vacuuming carpet, wet mopping floors, trash removal, dusting, glass cleaning, stocking restroom supplies, soap & towel dispensers, and other duties as needed. Self-motivated, able to perform the duties of the job without supervision. Dependable and neat in appearance.
- Operates various types of equipment and machinery, which include wet vacuums, hand trucks, vacuum cleaners, carpet extractors, floor buffers, automatic scrubbers, etc.
- Ensure that inventories are logged and that supplies and equipment stay fully stocked for future cleaning tasks
- Assists in the completion of the workload in the absence of other service workers.
- Reports any malfunctions/maintenance problems to the supervisor. Discusses work problems and/or schedule problems with supervisor and/or management. May be required to lock and/or unlock doors. Attends training meetings and sessions as directed.
Physical Demands:
The employee is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with arms and hands. The employee is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to talk or hear. The employee must lift/move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
