Job description

This position will be a salaried, exempt position. Pay range is $66,000-$75,000 depending on experience.

Hotel Nexus in North Seattle, WA.

Great questions (even if I do say so myself). Well, first, we are a bit obsessive about our succession planning and developing eventual 1st time General Managers. Whether it’s with our company, at a competitor or halfway around the world, we want to share the responsibility for getting you there. Though it is a very structured program, you are as responsible as your trainers/mentors to push through the program, communicate openly, and stay self-motivated throughout. At the end of your 4-6 months long training, (this gives you time to learn other franchises, work at other hotels and use your learned skills with multiple teams), you will be certified and have working experience in the following:

  • Certification: Front Office Supervisor and Manager Positions
  • Certification: Housekeeping Supervisor and Manager Positions
  • Have a working knowledge of maintenance and food and beverage management
  • Have time and experience with multiple properties and franchises including IHG, Hilton, Marriott and Best Western.
  • Have training in Sales, Revenue Management, Accounting and Human Resources
  • Once completion of the above you will receive your “AGM” and “GM in training” certifications.

Once certified, we continue to work tirelessly with and for you to get you into a GM position within our family of hotels. If we don’t have an opportunity for you to take the next step within 12 months of starting this journey, we will work on your behalf, if requested, to act as your recruiter to place you outside of our group, (yes at a competitor).
