Host/Hostess

Anita's Restaurant, a popular breakfast and lunch destination in Nokomis, FL, is seeking a friendly and energetic hostess to join our team. We are a bustling, fast-paced establishment with a strong focus on providing exceptional customer service and delicious food.
Position: Hostess
Hours: Part-time or Full-time, with a preference for weekend availability. Our restaurant operates from 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM.
Responsibilities:

• Greet and seat guests in a warm and welcoming manner
• Manage reservations, waitlist, and seating arrangements to ensure smooth flow of service
• Maintain a clean and organized host stand, including managing menus and other guest materials
• Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service
• Handle phone calls and take reservations in a professional and friendly manner
• Assist with opening and closing duties, such as setting up and breaking down the host stand and ensuring all equipment and supplies are properly stored
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude, and work well in a team environment
• Attend and participate in staff meetings and training sessions as needed

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a hostess in a high-volume restaurant environment preferred
• Weekend availability is preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Basic math skills for handling reservations and wait times
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
