SUMMARY:
Shift: 4:00pm-8:00pm
Under supervision and in accordance with standard procedures performs a variety of basic and routine tasks relating to the pre-preparation, assembly, and distribution of food for Medical Center patients, visitors, and staff. Promotes meal assistance for all patients on a daily basis, including meal selection, service, and retrieval. Accurately serves food and beverages to patients in accordance with the patient’s prescription diet. Verbally communicates patient concerns with the clinical dietitians such as education needs and inadequate meal consumption. Participates in quality assessment and continuous quality improvement activities. Complies with all infection control and safety standards. Performs all job duties and responsibilities in a courteous and customer-focused manner according to the Hurley Family Standards of Behavior.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Works under the direct supervision of a food service manager, supervisor, or designee who assigns and inspects work for conformance to established policies and procedures.
MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School graduate and/or GED equivalent.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Basic knowledge of food handling techniques.
- Physical ability to be on feet for long periods of time and to endure warm humid environment.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to follow and understand oral and written instruction.
- Ability to work harmoniously with co-workers.
- Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with patients, employees, and visitors.

Pay: $13.80 - $15.36 per hour
