Table 79 Food Bar in Steamboat Springs, CO is looking for one Host/Hostess to join our team. The Host works to create an environment where each and every guest thinks, This. This is the only place in the world I want to be eating right now.
The Host is responsible for guest satisfaction by completing and confirming reservations, greeting guests, and getting them seated promptly whilst controlling the flow of the dining room to allow the service staff to provide a great experience. As the guest's first face, the Host should always be warm, calm, and welcoming. In addition, the Host must always clearly communicate guest requests and needs to the service team and management.
DUTIES:
- Shifts typically from 4.30pm until 9pm
- Provide genuine hospitality with heart and style.
- Report to work on time, dressed in appropriate attire, on scheduled days with proper tools to perform required duties.
- Maintain a clear understanding of OpenTable reservations system
- Check and return telephone messages daily.
- Call and confirm any unconfirmed reservations.
- Attend the pre-shift briefing. Discuss guest notes, VIPs, the flow of service, bottlenecks, and server sections.
- As the first person that each customer meets, the host must always be warm, smiling, and welcoming.
- When saying goodbye to guests, invite them to return. Report any negative feedback to management immediately.
- Seat guests methodically to allow for a proper service flow, ensure timings are spread out, liaise with the duty manager to ensure the kitchen has a good pace of tickets and service is running smoothly.
- Communicate with the service team about flow and needs.
- Communicate OpenTable notes, special occasions, allergies, or other needs or requests to servers and management before service. Communicate these items again upon seating the guest.
- Answer the telephone promptly and politely whilst continuing to acknowledge new guests arriving.
- Maintain knowledge of general restaurant information and the local area.
- Maintain knowledge of menu offerings.
- Report menu needs to MOD before service.
- Keep menu boxes current, clean and orderly.
- Ensure that all menus and wine books are kept clean, current, and in good condition.
- Communicate floor plans to the service team for planning and setup.
- Make reservations accurately for guests using OpenTable, within the parameters set by the house.
- Escort guests to their table, inform servers and backwaiters of each new table.
- Keep the host area and the main entrance immaculately clean and orderly.
- Regularly check the restrooms for cleanliness and re-stock necessary items.
- Communicate last tables to Chef or Sous Chef.
- Responsible for notifying management of any shift where overtime transpires.
- Perform any and all duties as assigned.
COMPENSATION
$14 per hour plus tip share of 1.5% of daily gross sales

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $25.00 - $45.00/hour.
