Job Summary:
A Host presents a positive first impression of the establishment's friendliness, excellent service and high standards. The Host also greet guests upon arrival, inform guests of their wait time, monitor a waiting list, enter guest names into the computer system, show guests to their table and bid guests farewell as they leave.
A Host must be able to carry natural conversation with guests without sounding scripted or intrusive. Additionally, the Host performs light housekeeping duties and ensures restrooms are clean, stocked and orderly. As a member of an energetic team, the Host is required to answer the phones and fill to-go orders when needed. Availability must include nights and weekends.
Job Duties:
- Greeting guests with a personable greeting and appearance in order to create the first impression of our establishment.
- Being well versed in any and all needs that may occur at the host stand, including but not limited to menu knowledge, property knowledge, time-based knowledge such as happy hour times, and open table iPad usage.
- Taking guests to their table and setting them up for a 5-star service, letting them know their servers name and answering any and all questions that may arise during this transition of host to server in a friendly manner
- Checking and maintaining table status on OpenTable
- Checking and maintaining bathrooms regularly
- Might support bussers in clearing tables, wiping down tables/menus, and setting silverware
- Stay well informed of the restaurants policies
- Adhere to the dress code
Minimum Qualifications and Skills:
The following are the minimum qualifications that an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.
- High School Diploma
- Must have a positive and energetic attitude
- Friendly and capable communication skills with both guests and fellow employees in order to maintain our level of professionalism
- Exceptional phone etiquette, professional and courteous at all times
- Flexibility when working alternating shifts
- Being able to work efficiently and accurately without delegation or supervision-take initiative
- 1 year experience and ability to demonstrate what you’ve learned from that experience

- Must be able to reach, bend, climb and stoop. Must be able to carry up to 30lbs
