Job Summary:
Responsible for receiving orders as well as prompt and courteous delivery of blood and blood products to facilities in the Central California Blood Center service area. Also may be responsible for transportation of equipment and staff as well as processing of samples for laboratory testing.
Essential Job Duties:
Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations.
Immediately report compliance issues to department management.
Answer incoming calls in Hospital Services as needed.
Take orders from area hospitals as needed.
Pull stock and pack orders.
Delivery of orders to area facilities the following counties: Fresno, Mariposa, Merced, Kings and Tulare.
Quarantine products when necessary.
Monitors and maintains Hospital Services equipment and vehicles and updates applicable records and charts.
Performs data quality control of storage equipment and shipping procedures.
Performs corrective action for unscheduled storage alarms and documentation of equipment maintenance, as needed.
Irradiation of blood products.
Importing products from other facilities.
Manage blood inventory.
Pickup and delivery of specimens, equipment, supplies, and staff as needed.
Participate in quarterly inspections.
Assist all departments in the Quality Plan.
Spin sample tubes for Lab testing.
Demonstrate adherence to employee handbook and all company policies.
Assist with rotation of departmental cleaning duties as assigned by leadership.
Attend all 1:1 and department meetings as scheduled.
Regular attendance and promptness are essential functions of this position.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Must show proof of COVID vaccination (booster not required)
Possession of a valid California driver's license.
Must possess good driving record and be insurable by CCBC carrier at all times.
High school diploma or GED, required.
Willingness to accept additional hours where necessary to meet operational needs.
Must be self-motivated and a team player
Excellent customer service and phone skills
Physically able to lift and carry 50 lbs
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Knowledge of geographical area
Prior computer skills using Microsoft Office (primarily MS Word and Outlook) are there other computer skills
Basic medical terminology
Physical Activity:
Climbing. Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion.
Stooping. Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full motion of the lower extremities and back muscles.
Crouching. Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
Crawling. Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.
Reaching. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Standing. Particularly for sustained periods of time.
Walking. Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
Pushing. Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.
Pulling. Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
Lifting. Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles.
Fingering. Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
Grasping. Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
Talking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
Hearing. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discrimination in sound.
Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
The ability to frequently lift up to 30 lbs. to/from ground or counter height and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
Visual Acuity Requirements:
The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
Working conditions:
Must be able to work in (-15 to 40 deg F) for the purpose of product storage, inventory, filling orders and routine maintenance checks.
