Hospice Chaplain needed. Full-time, approximately 32 hours/week.
The Hospice Chaplain is an interfaith spiritual counselor who works with a patient and family to honor their unique faith and traditions at the end of life. The Chaplain works to help alleviate some of the sadness, guilt, stress, fear, regret, and anger associated with the end of life for many people. The Chaplain does not replace a patient or family’s own faith community or pastor, but works with them. The Chaplain honors the beliefs each individual/family has, helps them further develop their faith and answer unresolved questions, and educates the other team members about the important beliefs patients or families hold regarding end of life care. The Chaplain can administer religious rites and sacraments for all major faith traditions, can officiate at funerals, and can provide support through prayer, reading from sacred texts, and more.
