- Provides personal care including light housekeeping, and meal preparation as directed in the Hospice Aide care plan.
- Demonstrates knowledge of standard precautions and ability to perform basic infection control procedures.
- Demonstrates to family/caregiver proper techniques to meet the personal care needs of the patient.
- Performs personal care activities to promote and maintain patient hygiene.
- Assists patients in performing necessary activities of daily living.
- Assists patients with ambulation and exercise.
- Assists patients with medications that are ordinarily self-administrated.
- Uses proper body mechanics to promote patient safety.
- Reports changes in patient’s condition or care needs that require follow-up to supervisory and/or appropriate team member. Can include physical, spiritual, social and emotional status.
- Documents care provided in accordance with agency standards
- Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
- Attends team meetings and participate in other agency meetings as directed.
- Maintains a minimum of twelve (12) hours of training/education specific to position annually.

- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Must have six (6) months combined experience in home care or hospital, and long term care. Experience in caring for the terminally ill preferred.
- Current licensure as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of Florida.
- Current State of Florida Driver’s license with driving record acceptable to Community Hospice insurance carrier; reliable transportation.
