JSDD is committed to providing high-quality residential and community services to individuals with Developmental Disabilities in both a group home setting and day program (WAE Center). We are dedicated to supporting individuals we serve in acquiring new skills and participating in meaningful recreation and community activities. Program is designed to provide residents with the opportunities to achieve their greatest level of independence, success, and fulfillment.
JSDD is seeking to hire a Horticulture Consultant to facilitate a variety of seasonal gardening classes appropriate to the interests and needs of WAE Center members. This individual will assist members with the following: personal and professional growth, developing their talents and interests in gardening and sensory exploration, and encouraging greater independence.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong group facilitation and teaching skills
- Experience with curriculum development
· Background in horticulture and gardening, bachelor’s degree preferred, knowledge of changing trends and horticulture resources/ local organizations
· Prior Experience working with individuals with IDD (Intellectual Developmental Disabilities)
· Strong organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills
· Strong creative problem-solving skills
Sensitivity to each member’s individuality and personal growth and a commitment to finding “The Spark Within” each person. The program is extremely hands-on.
Job Types: Contract, Part-time
Pay: $40.00 per hour
