About the Wood Working Assistant Position:

The woodworking position will work beside the rest of our team to build high quality Horse Jumps. This position includes but is not limited to independently building Horse Jumps with a high-quality standard in mind based on a blueprint provided, keeping a clean workplace around you, practice all safety standards, following instructions from the manager, and attending team meetings! The woodworking position candidate needs to be comfortable working around a variety of tools and machinery. This job is in a fast-paced environment with a high-quality craftsmanship in mind!

Responsibilities

· Working with saws, planers, jointers, sanders, and other all other required equipment safely

· Keeping a clean & organized environment

· Precisely cutting lumber straight

· Attaching wood together with the joints tight

· Wood filling any major knots or cracks in wood

· Removing tags, staples, etc. out of lumber

· Detail Sanding all lumber, edges, etc.

· Fixing any mistakes and/or changes to the product as directed to do so

· Helping load & unload lumber

· Helping Deliver Jump Sets as needed

· Finishing each set of jumps within a reasonable time frame.

· Communicating any relevant & important information with manager.

Location & Scheduling

Our Horse Jump building all takes place on our horse farm in Lexington, KY. Due to the location being on our horse farm, it is very important to have respect for the horses and clients that are on the property to keep everyone safe around you. Your schedule will be posted at minimum two weeks prior to scheduled dates. We do need a minimum of 2 weeks’ notice for any time off requests. Based upon experience, this could be a part-time or full-time position.

Requirements

· 7 years woodworking experience

· Equine experience preferred, but not required- Bonus if you have knowledge of various equine disciplines and Horse Jump designs.

· Self-Starter

· Organized

· Reliable

· Leadership skills

· Good Work Ethic

· Valid Driver’s License

· Clear Driving Record & Background check

· US Citizenship OR Valid to work legally in the United States

Compensation

Pay is based upon experience.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
