THE ROLE:

As a Homeless Shelter Staff Member, your day is filled with moments of compassion and connection. You start by welcoming our residents, ensuring they feel safe and supported. Throughout the day, you assist them with their needs, whether it's providing a listening ear, helping them with job and financial preparedness, or simply offering a comforting presence. As the day winds down, you reflect on the impact you've made, knowing that your efforts have helped provide hope and stability to those in need.
To thrive in this role, you'll need:
- 1+ years of experience working with the homeless population
- Compassion and empathy for individuals in crisis
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- A commitment to upholding The Sophia Way's mission and values
Bonus points for:
- Experience in a shelter or social services environment
WORK SCHEDULE:
This is a full-time position with shifts typically from 3 PM to 11:15 PM (our Swing Shift). You'll be based in Bellevue, WA, providing essential support to our community in need.
