To further our mission we are looking for aHome Repair Construction Inspector.
Position Overview:
Responsible for the initial scope of work and inspections of the Housing Stabilization Program's Home Repair programs.
Responsibilities:
- Determine scope of work and cost estimates for applicants' properties specific to program guidelines.
- Ability to perform a general needs-based inspection of properties to ensure structural and health improvements are significantly addressed.
- Familiarity with Allegheny County and local city/municipal residential building codes.
- Review contractor estimates to ensure cost reasonableness.
- Perform initial, periodic, and final inspections to ensure projects are being completed timely, cost efficiently, and meeting program requirements.
- Establish relationships and contacts with local contractors.
- Maintain project scope of work and inspection review information.
- Conduct intake of clients and determine eligibility for Whole Home Repairs and similarly connected funding.
- Responsible for the maintenance of current data and statistics pertaining to clients.
- Compile monthly project production reports and submit as required.
- Provide backup for the Housing Stabilization Program Manager as needed.
- Complete continuing education requirements and obtain required professional certificates as required.
- All other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- An associate degree in building construction/estimating with one (1) year of relevant experience or three (3) years' experience in residential construction and estimating required.
- A valid driver's license and insured vehicle.
- Willingness to travel/preform duties in remote locations.
- Experience or skill in the construction or renovation of residential buildings.
- Experience with accessible modification renovation and the American with Disabilities Act.
- Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office package, as well as the internet, preferred.
