Job Description:
- Purpose of Job:
To provide excellent customer service while billing and collecting patient liabilities and outstanding payment from selected payors.
- Essential Functions:
- Supports the financial goals of the department by performing billing activity for selected payors (25%)
- Supports the financial goals of the department by performing follow-up on outstanding Accounts Receivable for selected payors (25%)
- Post cash/payment for insurance and self-pay payments on patient accounts (25%)
D. Provides excellent customer service to include validating patient financial responsibility through insurance
verification process (25%)
Job Qualifications:
Qualifications:
- Education: High School or equivalent required
B. Experience: 1 year healthcare billing preferred
1-year customer service experience preferred
1 year PC experience utilizing windows technology required
C. Other Skills: Ability to negotiate and problem solve independently
Knowledge of medical terminology
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
Good math and analytical skills
Ability to type the minimum of 35 wpm
- Training time required once hired: 1-3 months
