Home Health Aide (HHA)
Home Health Aides act as a bridge to independent living for many seniors as well as those with disabilities who may also require assistance with activities of daily living. From monitoring a client’s vital signs and physical or mental condition, to assisting with grooming, hygiene, and chores around the house, Home Health Aides allow clients to maintain the familiarity and dignity of living at home.
Preferred Care at Home, a nationwide senior care company, is seeking qualified caregivers in the South Tampa area. We have stable and top paying assignments available for immediate placement.
Home Health Aid Responsibilities:
Help clients with personal hygiene, dressing, bathing and other daily tasks
Perform basic health care services for clients including checking vital signs or administering prescription medication
Help with general light housekeeping, including cooking meals
Make transportation arrangements or provide transportation for clients as needed
Collect information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses, doctors and family members
Observe and report on each client’s condition
Stay up-to-date with Home Health Aide training, policies and procedures
Minimum Qualifications Include:
- Current CNA License OR HHA Certification OR
- Documentation of at least 40 hours of Home Health Aide training by:
- a public vocational technical school or
- a private career education school licensed by the Florida Department of Education or
- a Home Health agency, if the Home Health Aide was formerly employed by that Home Health agency.
- Current Nursing Students who have completed Nursing Fundamentals with requisite clinical hours may use their transcripts to qualify.

- Documentation of at least 40 hours of Home Health Aide training by:
- Current level two background check. CLICK HERE to learn how to obtain a level two background check from the Florida Department of Health.
- Current CPR / BLS Certification from the American Heart Association, the American Red Cross, or the National Safety Council.
- CEU Course Certificates for HIV / AIDS, Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders (ADRD), and Assisting with Self Administration of Medication. These may be obtained through CE Broker (or another reputable site). Licensed CNA's and working HHA's should already have these. If you do not already have these, you must obtain them within 30 days of hire.

- Competitive, merit-based pay. Experienced caregivers start at $15/hr. Pay raises and/or bonuses available for active caregivers who have remained with our company for six months with positive client feedback.
