However, it’s one of the most important jobs in society, and here at FirstLight Home Care of Alameda we treat our caregivers accordingly. We take care of our caregivers the way we want them to take care of our clients.
If you work with FirstLight Home Care of Alameda, we’ll make sure you have fair pay, all the training you need, a supervisor who will always have your back, and the best schedule/hours we can.
We will pay $500 for training, $19/hr with potential for promotions and raises and referral bonuses. Bi-Lingual Encouraged (Cantonese preferred) to apply.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Home Care Aid (HCA) is responsible for personal care and assisting with activities of daily living with clients in their homes. All employees must be committed to the concepts, philosophy, and mission of FirstLight and possess the desire to assist individuals to maximize their independence and reach their fullest potential in their personal residence.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential job duties for this position include the following items. Other duties must be performed as assigned or required.
● Provide general attention to the non-medical needs of the client(s) following an established Service Plan/Care Plan. This may include personal hygiene, toileting, bathing, oral care, hair, and/or skincare.
● Assist client(s) in and out of bed, excluding the use of mechanical lifting equipment unless trained and documented as competent
● Assist client(s) with walking, including the use of walkers and wheelchairs, when applicable
● Provide meal planning, preparation, and feeding as required.
● Provide medication reminders. (will not dispense since this is a non-medical position)
● Remind clients to complete prescribed exercises when instructed by the appropriate health care professional.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, the individual in this position must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skills, abilities, certifications, and educational experience required.
1. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
● High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
● Ability to effectively interact with clients, families, and FirstLight team.
2. CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSURE, & REGISTRATION
● Registered as a HCA in CA (we can help you navigate this process with Guardian)
● Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License and maintain adequate auto insurance, if applicable

Pay: $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 40 per week
