Job Description
Under the supervision of the Economic and Family Support Services Director, the Home Auditor/Inspector is responsible for performing initial audits of client homes in the Weatherization program to determine necessary changes to improve energy efficiency. This position is based in the Ottumwa office. Once certified, this person will perform the final inspection of completed homes following contracted Weatherization repairs/replacements ensuring all contracted work was completed correctly, thoroughly, and meets the State of Iowa Weatherization Program standards and applicable codes. This position requires extensive training, all provided on the job by Sieda. This person will be responsible for maintaining on-going communication with program contractors during jobs and provide technical/program standards assistance when needed. The Home Auditor/Inspector is responsible for developing and sustaining a good working relationship with all agencies, organizations, governmental bodies, funding sources and contractors with which Sieda’s Weatherization Program works. This position requires a high amount of documenting and reporting and working closely with the Weatherization Coordinator to ensure contractual compliance in the delivery of the Weatherization Program services.
FORMAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of High School diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in similar positions.
- Preferred: Completion of a 2–4 year college level construction or engineering degree.
Applicants must have the ability to interpret an extensive variety of written rules and regulations and translate that information to various program staff and be able to use, understand, and adapt to new technology. A general understanding of construction and audit/inspection equipment is helpful. English/Spanish bilingual is desired, but not required. See the full job description at www.sieda.org/employment

Salary range for this position is $39,050 - $45,884 per year and is commensurate with education and experience.
