FAMILY DOLLAR DISTRIBUTION CENTER is hiring at our Rome, NY facility! Your next career opportunity is waiting for you as a full-time Transportation Class B Technician with Dollar Tree and Family Dollar, the largest retailer by store count in the United States! We currently have 23 distribution centers and are expecting to open another one this year.
From baby formula and diapers to party supplies and balloons, our customers rely on our products for their everyday needs. If you'll take pride in making sure our customers always have the selection of merchandise they need, then we want to talk to you.
General Summary:
Provides safe, effective and efficient preventative and repair maintenance to all Family Dollar Transportation equipment.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Performs all necessary repairs to all systems, sub-systems and components to tractors, switchers and trailers including minor adjustments of engine and transmission components.
2. Assists Class A Technician with major engine and transmission work, as needed (NCDC only).
3. Identifies warranty opportunities and works to maximize Family Dollar claims.
4. Assists Class C Technicians.
5. Performs periodic FHWA inspections, inbound equipment inspections and PM follow up work.
6. Assists in maintaining an accurate parts inventory system.
7. Assists Maintenance Supervisor and lead technician (NCDC only), as needed.
8. Follows set safety procedures and guidelines to maximize personal safety.
9. Maintains an organized work area and promotes a safe working environment within the Transportation department.
10. Follows all Company policies and procedures.
11. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in heavy-duty truck and trailer maintenance; or 2 years' experience with a Diesel/Auto Technical School degree.
- Prefer basic computer knowledge to include Word and Outlook.
- Must possess a valid driver's license, Class A CDL preferred. Team Member will complete an annual violation and review record and provide authorization for an annual MVR.
- Current Brake Certification and proper certification to perform FHWA inspections preferred.
