Highlander Sales Manager
Highlander Beer out of Missoula Montana is looking for a Sales Manager to lead our wholesale business. We are a production brewery, that opened in 2015, and currently distributes to the states of Montana and Idaho.
This position has the following responsibilities and duties:
Distributor Relations:
· Develop and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual sales strategies specific to each territory
· Work closely with our distributors to implement strategy, and assess performance
· Develop strong working relationships with our distributors and their teams
· Provide consistent and clear communication for distributors around new products and releases, pricing, orders, inventory, ect..
· Oversee distributor inventory management
· Develop and execute ABPs with each distributor, and follow-through with ABP initiatives
Market Duties:
· Continually assess and direct pricing for each SKU and market- work to maintain desired margins set by company
· Ensure our product is represented consistent with our branding throughout all accounts and markets
· Execute audits to make sure beer is in-date and quality is maintained
· Visit independent on-premise and off-premise accounts to build and maintain relationships
· Main point of contact with all corporate accounts, and manage each corporate account to leverage our brand(s) within their stores
Company/ Team Responsibilities:
· Monthly assessment and analysis of Highlander sales performance
· Monthly initiatives to improve sales performance
· Participate in monthly and quarterly manager meetings, and provide recommendations to team for wholesale strategy/ innovations/ solutions
· Work closely with President and Head Brewer to develop overall wholesale strategy, wholesale goals, and wholesale forecasting
· Maintain General understanding of industry trending
Ideal candidates:
· College degree
· Minimum of 5 years working in the beer or alcohol industry, with at least 2 years of management experience
· Must understand beer wholesale business and the workings of the 3-tier system.
· Must have experience working with chain/ corporate accounts
· Must have experience in inventory management, understanding market trends, and pricing
· Must possess strong communication skills, and be proficient using Word, Excel, Powerpoint
· Previous experience working for a distributor or corporate account is preferred
The ideal candidate would live in Missoula, but we will consider candidates who live in the Montana and Idaho territories. This position will require travel to Highlander sales territories (Montana and Idaho) This position reports to the Highlander Beer’s President, but works closely with our Head Brewer and other Admin team members.
