We are seeking a qualified High Voltage / Power Systems Engineer to join our team.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
Develop, improve, and reverse engineer high and low voltage Power Systems according to electrical specifications/standards and components for various electric vehicles and projects.
- Designing, developing, and implementing Power Systems
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define system specifications
- Conducting system analysis and performance testing to ensure optimal functionality
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to system performance and functionality
- Developing and maintaining technical documentation for system design, configuration, and troubleshooting procedures
- Collaborating with stakeholders to identify system improvement opportunities and implement enhancements
- Providing technical support and guidance to end-users
- Oversee the activities of tier 1 suppliers involved in the High Voltage system project, leading meetings and maintaining an open issues list.
- Coordinate development tasks according to project plans and budgets, including sourcing components and placing orders to ensure timely project completion.
- Provide regular and proactive updates to management / Stake holders on project issues, delays, and risks, offering potential solutions and resource requirements.
- Lead the planning, construction, and coordination of prototype parts development, including detailed technical specifications, test plans, and reports up to vehicle integration.
- Execute test plans, analyze and resolve development and field implementation issues.
- Research and analyze advanced power electronic components, identifying promising ideas for vehicle implementation and publishing regular reports with recommendations.
- Monitor and evaluate new vehicle technologies, provide supplier selection recommendations, participate in and support relevant SAE standardization committees.
- Plan and lead task force activities as necessary.
- Possess strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Be willing to travel domestically and internationally as required.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications / experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics Engineering
- Experience in automotive component development at a tier 1 or OEM
- Minimum 2 years of electric vehicle experience
- Familiar with core engineering processes such as DFMEA, PFMEA, DVP&R, PVP&R
- Familiar with High Voltage EE system development and vehicle integration
- Lab hands on experience and Familiar with Lab safety practices
- Excellent analytical skill
- Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills
- Knowledge of vehicle diagnostic and analysis tools such as CAN/CANalyzer, ETAS/Inca
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively
- Process improvement expertise
- Creativity
- Strong work ethic
- Valid US driving license
- MATLAB programming skills and experience is a plus
- Modeling in Simulink – Stateflow, Vehicle Network Toolbox is a plus
- Python or C/C++ programming and software design skills is a plus

We have developed our own HVPDU and purchased others from various suppliers. e need someone who would be comfortable reverse engineering current HVPDUs. Rearrange components, design bus bar layouts, and housing for the module.

- Battery Pack Module:
Veolectra has ideas and designs for HV Battery Packs. We need someone who is capable and comfortable designing, building, and testing HV Battery Packs as well as integrate the packs with a Battery Monitor System (BMS). These packs range from 300 to 800 volts and can have up to 200 individual cells which need to be connected in series.
