SalaryDescription: Takoma Academy is currently accepting applications for the position of Spanish Teacher for the 2024 – 2025 school year. We are a 9th-12th grade day Academy located in Takoma Park, Maryland. The school is well known for spiritual nurturing, rigorous academics, as well as service. Its sister school, Takoma Academy Preparatory School offers grades PK-8 and is adjacent to the academy. It functions independently of TA.
Experience: We seek an individual who can effectively immerse students in the Spanish language and engage a diverse student population. The ideal candidate must be able to foster students' confidence in language acquisition and utilize engaging activities to facilitate learning. Proficiency in implementing the NAD World Language standards to enhance students' language knowledge and comprehension is required.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate must meet the following conditions for employment at Takoma Academy:
- Must be a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church
- Must be willing to complete SDA Denominational Certification, upon hire, if not already certified
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Experience working with youth, ages 13-18
- Pass a background check
