Aitkin High School is searching for a 1.0 FTE 7-12 Choral/Vocal Music Director starting in the Fall of the 2024-25 school year.
The full-time position serves the students in our middle/senior High School (Grades 7-12). A Minnesota teaching degree is required in 7-12 Vocal Music, preferably with a Masters Degree to cover CIS course offerings. The choral/ vocal instructor must be well organized, creative and be able to instruct students in playing handbells, guitar, piano, and direct a school musical (an extra curricular contract). The Choir/Vocal classes being taught include: 7-8 grade boys' and girls' choirs, 9-12 Concert Choir, Guitar, Piano, and Music Exploration 7 or 8, as well as Madrigals and Handbells in zero hour before the school day starts. The Aitkin High School Band/Choir programs have access to a large auditorium that will seat up to 720 guests along with large classrooms. The choir classroom is equipped with a Smartboard, Wenger filing system, three practice rooms, new stereo system, guitars, keyboards and digital grand piano.
