Job Title: High School AP Math Tutor
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable High School AP Math Tutor to support students in mastering advanced math concepts covered in AP courses. The ideal candidate should have expertise in AP Calculus, AP Statistics, or other advanced placement math subjects, and possess excellent communication skills to facilitate effective learning.
Responsibilities:
- Advanced Placement Subjects: Provide specialized tutoring in AP Math subjects, such as AP Calculus AB/BC, AP Statistics, or other advanced placement courses.
- Individualized Instruction: Conduct one-on-one tutoring sessions tailored to each student's needs, focusing on AP exam preparation and mastery of challenging topics.
- Exam Strategies: Instruct students on effective test-taking strategies, time management, and problem-solving techniques specific to AP exams.
- Curriculum Support: Assist students with understanding and completing assignments, projects, and homework related to AP math courses.
- Concept Mastery: Break down complex AP math concepts into manageable parts, ensuring students develop a deep understanding of the material.
- Practice Tests: Administer and review practice AP exams to help students become familiar with the format and content of the actual exams.
- Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback. Collaborate with parents and teachers to address any concerns or areas of improvement.
- Resource Development: Develop or recommend supplementary materials, practice exams, and resources to enhance students' preparation for AP exams.
- Stay Updated: Stay current with changes to the AP Math curriculum, exam formats, and any updates from the College Board.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of advanced placement math subjects, especially AP Calculus and/or AP Statistics.
- Previous tutoring or teaching experience in AP Math courses.
- Strong familiarity with AP exam requirements and scoring.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, adaptability, and the ability to tailor instruction to individual student needs.
- Familiarity with current High SchoolAP Math curricula.
Schedule:
Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate students' schedules, especially during peak exam periods.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 7 per week
