QUALIFICATIONS:
- Three (3) years of successful classroom experience preferred
- Master's degree in education or related field
- Valid educational license
SUPERVISES: N/A
REPORTS TO: Supervising Administrator
JOB GOAL: To plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in an elementary or secondary learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned, including, but are not limited to:
- Provides daily technical support in the areas of curriculum, assessments, data analysis, and technology
- Serves as a content specialist to assist in the development and implementation of campus instructional plans that align with district goals and curriculum
- Works with district personnel and campus administration to design and provide professional development focused on improving alignment and delivery of the written, taught and tested curriculum to increase student success and close performance gaps
- Works with teachers and campus administration to analyze student data, diagnose instructional needs and identify research-based instructional strategies to close achievement gaps
- Provides job-embedded professional development for teachers through modeling engaging, standards-based teaching as needed
- Collaborates with district curriculum personnel, campus administration, and teachers to review and develop aligned curriculum components, including assessments
- Provides individual and/or group instructional coaching and mentoring to teachers to improve classroom instruction for all learners
- Conducts teacher observations and walkthroughs and provide feedback that facilitates teacher reflection and growth
- Works with curriculum specialists, campus administration, and team and/or grade level teachers in planning standards-based lessons and assessments aligned to the district curriculum
- Manages and distributes instructional resources to teachers and provide training on the use of those resources
- Encourages and supports the implementation of technology and innovative strategies in the classroom
- Attends district level training and provide campus-level professional development in district initiatives
- Provides ongoing feedback to campus administration to be used in the teacher evaluation process
- Assists with the school strategic plan
- Assists in the development, monitoring and implementation of teacher intervention plans
- Assists with the implementation and monitoring of campus and district initiatives
- Assists in the collection, analysis and response to campus data 18. Serve a the teacher of record in the absence of a teacher as needed.
- Attends school and district meetings/trainings as assigned
- Serves as a member of the campus leadership team as required by building principal
- Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance
- Supports the Hattiesburg Public School District Mission, Vision, and Strategic Plan 23. Perform other duties assigned by supervisor
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year to be established by the Board of Trustees
