High Reach Forklift Operator - 1St Shift

G&S Foods is a central PA based snack food company operating in Abbottstown, PA. We are a co-manufacturer of sweet and salty snacks from popcorn to chocolate-covered pretzels. We are hiring for a 1st ShiftHigh Reach Forklift Operator. This position includes great benefits including a $750 sign-on bonus, attendance bonuses and employee appreciation events! Our Forklift Operators are responsible for using sit-down and High Reach Forklifts to move finished product from the production floor, supplying production with raw materials, as well as loading and unloading loads. The goal will be to ensure that material and products will always be at the right place to achieve maximum efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize DEACOM (ERP system) to accurately verify, track all incoming, in process and outgoing material moves.
• Inspect and unload raw materials, note variance in quantities received and deny materials that are received in poor condition.
• Place pallets in assigned racks using a High Reach Forklift.
• Inspect trailers to ensure they are safe for food transport per food safety protocol.
• Load trailers with outbound product to customer or intercompany transfer.
• Communicate with purchasing and production regarding any issues with incoming materials.
• Provide raw materials as needed to production line and transport finished goods from production to proper warehouse location.
• Recording of lot tags for each load on the bill of lading.
• Sign and date all receiving documents to forward to accounting for payment of invoices and for tracking purposes.
• Conduct daily cycle counts. Inventory control and verification monthly of all raw materials and finished product.
• Perform forklift training and safety certification as required.
• Perform forklift safety checklist and report any deficiencies or needed repairs.
• Follow proper Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and standards and report violations.
• Follow safety procedures and report violations.
• Perform other duties as required.

Required Experience, Skills and Abilities:

• Proven experience as sit-down Forklift Operator and High Reach Forklift Operator in a warehouse or manufacturing environment required
• RF scanning experience required
• ERP software experience required
• Attention to detail required

Physical Requirements:

• Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use of hands and fingers to handle or feel and reach
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds
• Infrequently lift and / or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds
• Specific vision abilities required of this job include close vision, distance vision and peripheral vision.
• Must be able to work in varied temperatures

Shift Times:

• 1st Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00am-3:00pm
