HFE Study Trainer

Purpose:

Bayer's Human Factors Engineering team is looking for a clinical trainer to add another pillar to their Center of Excellence, with the role of HFE Study Trainer. The vision of the Center of Excellence is to be a "one-stop shop" for all human factors study needs from user experience design, recruitment, study preparation, execution, and analysis, and now training. This clinical trainer will support the preparation of the HFE studies, by working in collaboration with the Commercial organization's training team, to ensure the training checklist and method of delivery used in the ultimate human factors validation test is as close to real-use as possible during the simulation. Additionally, this clinical trainer will use their skills to drive content creation within the labeling documentation and training videos for the product under test. Ultimately, for the human factors validation test, this clinical trainer will deliver the product training and application support where requested to the intended users (using approved training techniques from the field) on the safe and proper use of the Radiology portfolio of products (those currently in the field, as well as new innovations in R&D).

The clinical trainer must remain current with Bayer equipment, current technologists and trends, and annual Bayer clinical certification.

Ideal candidates have the capability to be at the Indianola campus in Pittsburgh, PA and/or other domestic or international studies whenever necessary to support the project at-hand, which can be varying in duration. This role is hybrid, where it is expected that at least 25% of your time is based at the Bayer Indianola campus in Pittsburgh, PA to learn the equipment that you will be training on.

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role are to:

  • Support preparation of usability study training, by working in collaboration with the Commercial organization's training team to create the training materials and/or checklists that a field trainer will employ when the product is launched;
  • Drive content creation within the labeling documentation (Operation Manuals, Instructions for Use, Quick Guide, if applicable) and training videos for New Product Development projects;
  • Deliver product training and application support in the usability studies conducted by the Human Factors Engineering team, where requested, to the intended users (using approved training techniques from the field);
  • Support HFE analyses of electromechanical, disposables and graphic user interfaces of the Radiology portfolio of products (those currently in the field, as well as new innovations in Research and Development) by being a dry-run participant for the usability evaluation protocols;
  • Participate in expert review panels for new innovations within Research and Development based on experience working in the field as a radiologic technologist, as well as time spent in the field as a Clinical Performance Specialist.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate degree in a relatable technical / clinical discipline such as Radiologic Sciences with a minimum of 6 years relevant experience or Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or Master's degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Radiologic Technologist (RT) Certification;
  • Broad background and knowledge of effective Radiology workflow and practice;
  • Worked/is currently working as a Clinical Performance Specialist for Bayer / Medrad;
  • Experience demonstrating/training Bayer / Medrad Injector and Infusion systems;
  • Ability to travel domestically approximately 30% of the time with many responsibilities representing overnight travel (in varying durations as determined by the project - sometimes 1 week, other times 3 weeks in total);
  • Excellent verbal & communication skills, both over the phone and in person;
  • Working knowledge and proven skills of PC computer system including Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
