Description
The IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing information technology support to optimize overall operational efficiency. The IT Support Specialist will oversee business computer systems, set up, manage, and troubleshoot technology systems, maintain computer and software network(s), and offer support to system end users.
Key Responsibilities
  • Consult with IT managers and other departments as required.
  • Provide technical support to co-workers and troubleshoot IT equipment.
  • Install and update company software, hardware, and systems.
  • Train end-users on hardware functionality and software programs.
  • Resolve logged errors in a timely manner.
  • Monitor hardware, software, and system performance metrics.
  • Maintain databases and ensure system security.
  • Monitor security certificates and company compliance requirements.
  • Implement security measures.
  • Document processes and perform diagnostic tests.
  • Review diagnostics and assess the functionality and efficiency of systems.
  • Support system maintenance and routine server programs and performs troubleshooting on network issues.
  • Facilitate reduction of process downtime.
  • Anticipate and report the cost of replacing or updating computer and technical items.
  • Support active directory maintenance for all user accounts.
  • Keep track of technological advancements and trends in IT support.
  • Coordinate with various teams to configure cell phones and laptops.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise
  • Working knowledge of relevant hardware, operating systems, software, and programming.
  • Advanced knowledge of database maintenance and system security.
  • Excellent problem solving, process analysis, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to provide technical support and resolve queries.
  • Ability to determine IT needs and train end-users.
  • Efficient troubleshooting abilities and keen attention to detail.
  • Outstanding time-management skills with proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while meeting deadlines.
  • Good judgement skills with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Effective communication skills, including speaking, writing, and active listening.
  • Great customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Firm commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful and adaptable; able to work independently within team focused environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 software; SAP experience preferred.
  • Comp TIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and/or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA Security) certification preferred.
