Overview:
Participate in the fund’s profits while serving as Controller / CFO of a Hedge Fund in the Los Angeles, CA area. Relocation available. Hedge fund experience and CPA required. Big 4 a plus. For additional opportunities, visit www.knmresources.com
Fund responsibilities
- Prepare the annual, monthly and quarterly NAV closing packages, investor capital statements and financial statements
- Manage external fund administrators and auditors.
- Lead the governing documents of new product launches (PPM, LLC, LP agreements, loan agreements, subscription documents, etc.).
- Review inputs into investment valuation models, including financial metrics, capital structure and reasonableness of methodology utilized.
- Create and manage the firms data-room for investors
- Provide reporting on fund metrics and other ad-hoc financial information to internal management, external counterparties, and investors.
- Serve as representative for board meetings.
- Coordinate investor transactions including subscriptions, redemptions, distributions, and subsequent commitment closes.
- Institute accounting, financial reporting, and internal reporting processes and controls, including reporting for carried interest, management fee and incentive fee calculations.
Accounting / Management Reporting / Audit:
- Review monthly journal entries, bank reconciliations, general ledger, and supporting schedules
- Responsible for the month end close and leading the preparation of the monthly P&L and annualized forecast
- Prepare/review the Firm’s financial statements and Profit Sharing Plan
- Ensure quarterly hurdle expenses are allocated accurately for performance payouts.
- Review management fees calculations and rebates.
- Review market data & research contracts/subscriptions and forecast files.
- Involvement in preparation of quarterly expense ratios and board slides.
Requirements
Technology:
- Advanced Excel
- Administration of the general ledger and AP system
Tax:
- Reconcile K-1s & track investment basis.
- Research tax rules and accounting issues; provide management with recommendations.
- Manage annual filings of 1099s.
AP/Banking:
- Manage vendors and banking relationships
