Titan America has an excellent opportunity for a Equipment Operator at our sand plant located in New Castle, Va. This hourly position will report directly to the Lead Foreman. This position performs a variety of duties including quality control testing, maintenance, and operating Heavy Equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily operation of equipment at the plant, quarry, or shipping departments.
- Perform daily inspections, preventative maintenance and repair of mobile and/or plant equipment.
- Promote and actively pursue Safety First mentality and provide feedback on process and safety improvements.
- Perform sample testing and monitoring of sand production and measure quality standards by completing data analysis.
- Monitor test report data and plant records to help determine specification compliance.
- Report quality measurements and communicate adjustments that need to be made.
- Be available for days/nights/weekend and/or “after hours” work, as business needs dictate.
- Other duties as directed by the Lead Foreman.
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous mining or construction experience is preferred but not required.
- Previous experience operating Heavy Equipment (loaders, dozers, etc.) required. Previous excavator experience preferred.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude required.
- Effective verbal and written communications skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills with high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and overtime.
Working Environment:
Working outdoors with exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold and other outdoor environmental conditions, constant standing and walking, and lifting up to 50lbs. Adequate safety and personal protective equipment is issued to the employee including: hard hats, safety shoes, enhanced visibility clothing and safety goggles.
