POSITION: Heavy Civil Project Safety Manager
LOCATION: Van Nuys, CA / L.A. County Area Projects
JOB SUMMARY
The Safety Manager is a resource for supporting the project team in the successful completion of a construction project. This position assists the project team in planning, monitoring work activities and building and maintaining a positive safety culture.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
- Knowledge of the Company Safety and Health Program
- Assist in the implementation of the Injury and Illness Prevention Program
- Assist in the project site-specific safety orientation
- Conduct various employee safety and health trainings
- Assist in the development and review of Job Hazard Analysis
- Conduct Project Safety inspections
- Assist with incident investigations
- Assist in Cal/OSHA inspections, as necessary
- Assist in monitoring subcontractor safety performance
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- 5 years of Heavy Civil Construction Safety Management Experience
- A college degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST) Certification
- OSHA 30 Hour in Construction or OSHA 500 Construction Trainer
- Strong communication skills
- Computer software - Microsoft Office Suite, HCSS Safety
