Summary Description:
Operate Heat Treat and age ovens to ensure casting’s mechanical properties are within quality requirements and customer’s specifications as identified on the work instruction and PS documents. Perform final prep work on aluminum castings to meet customer specs in preparation for shipment.

Summary Description:
Operate Heat Treat and age ovens to ensure casting’s mechanical properties are within quality requirements and customer’s specifications as identified on the work instruction and PS documents. Perform final prep work on aluminum castings to meet customer specs in preparation for shipment.
Essential Functions:
- Operate general hand tools such as hammers, files, punches
- Operate manual machines and power hand tools such as drill press, saws, grinders, drills, sanders, die grinders, etc.
- Perform general housekeeping to keep area and surrounding areas clean and clear of debris
- Perform visual and hands-on part inspection
- Operate automated machines
- Operate manual conveyor systems
- Operate/use various measurement equipment such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, etc.
- Verify melt numbers on parts, traveler and test bars are consistent and accurate
- Solution Heat Treat – perform start-up, operation, shut down, and quench
- Age Ovens – perform start-up, operation and shut down
- Brinnel – perform surface prep, use of tester and reading indents
- Freezer – perform operation
- Must maintain a Good Attendance Record
- Perform any and all other job related tasks as assigned
Skills or Experience Required:
Must have High School diploma or GED. Must have good basic math skills; must be able to read/write in English for use in general and detailed paperwork. Equivalent job experience is a plus. Forklift/Crane operation experience is a plus. Must be certifiable for forklift operation. Must be able to use the following machines, tools, equipment and/or work aids: Forklifts, cranes, hand/power tools, manual conveyor
