Overview:
Rochester Hearing & Speech Center is seeking a skilled and compassionate Hearing Aid Dispenser to join our team! As a Hearing Aid Dispenser, you will play a vital role in helping individuals with hearing loss improve their quality of life. This position requires excellent patient assessment skills, medical terminology knowledge, and the ability to provide exceptional patient service. We are the longest standing not-for-profit agency helping the Rochester community since 1922!
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive hearing assessments to determine the extent of hearing loss
- Recommend and fit appropriate Hearing Aids based on individual needs and preferences
- Provide counseling and education to patients on Hearing Aid use, maintenance, and expectations
- Perform Hearing Aid adjustments, repairs, and modifications as needed
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in Hearing Aid technology and industry trends
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Adhere to all relevant legal and ethical guidelines
Qualifications:
- Valid Hearing Aid Dispenser license or certification
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and coding related to audiology
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to empathize and communicate effectively with individuals of all ages, including pediatrics
- Proficiency in using audiology equipment and software for testing and fitting Hearing Aids
- Familiarity with occupational health standards and practices
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
