You will provide leadership and oversight to the Health Safety & Environment (HS&E) functions, activities and performance for the Rocky Research Facilities, establishing strong working relationships with site leadership teams and the employees. You will report directly to the GM, Directed Energy Systems and matrix into the Honeywell HSE team. You will be a key leader for the Rocky Research facilities managing sustainable health and safety programs through incorporation of impactful operating processes. You will ensure the Rocky Research sites leans forward instituting leading practices in health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the health, safety and environment (HS&E) function including Strategic planning, budget management and Leadership of HS&E Operations
• Assure the ongoing maintenance of an effective HS&E Management System and maintain RC14001 certification
• Develop and implement comprehensive programs of loss prevention, emergency preparedness, safety, environmental protection and industrial hygiene assuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and Honeywell requirements
• Develop HSE team members to be up and coming leaders within the organization
• Influence all levels of the organization to mature the site HSE Management System and promote HSE Excellence
• Direct a comprehensive program of training, review, inspection, audit, reporting and documentation related to health, safety and environment
• Liaison with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders
• Manage third party project managers
• Lead HSE initiatives and continuous HSE improvement to support achievement of site goals and ensure zero harm to everyone
• Drive Excellence and engagement in HSE through management, leadership and employee involvement, worksite risk assessments, hazard prevention and control, and HSE training
• Deploy and manage HSE initiatives to continually improve performance of assigned programs and processes
• Develop and implement safety programs to maintain compliance with all HSE regulatory and company requirements
• Oversight and project management of HSE projects as needed
• Perform site compliance reviews, execute routine safety checklists and safety auditing as needed
U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.
YOU MUST HAVE
• 6+ years experience leading a site HSE management system and multiple direct reports
• HSE program/project development, implementation and management experience in a manufacturing environment
• Safety Auditing experience
• HSE compliance and Management Systems experience, such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 18001 or 9001
WE VALUE
Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Science or similar field
• Lean Expert or Six Sigma Black belt certification
Experience operating in SAP system
Experience planning and leading strategic initiatives with excellent project management skills
• Demonstrated analytical, business planning and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lead a team of HSE professionals and influence Site Leadership team
• Ability to identify and action issues, requirements, and opportunities for improvement
• Ability to forge solid relationships and manage multiple stakeholders
• Ability to remain calm, focused, and efficient under pressure
• Organized and able to manage multiple priorities effectively
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Innovative thinking to create continuous improvement
• Experience with HSE management systems
