POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Community Outreach Coordinator, the Mental Health Promoter’s Mental Health Promoter’s intended impact is to reduce the stigma related to mental health and provide support/resource linkage. The Mental Health Promoter will support, organize, and host community events as well as spearhead social media campaigns. They will conduct marketing and outreach to ensure community involvement in events. They will provide mental health education to the community and co-facilitate events alongside community partners.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide a variety of health education and promotion services including community tablings, presentations, educational and skills-based workshops, small group discussion.
- Gather, compile, and synthesize information to develop effective health promotion communications for the community, including social media and printed materials.
- Serve as liaison between program and a variety of community service agencies and providers; develops collaborative partnerships as a part of health promotion activities.
- Plan, develop and implement health promotion events, workshops, and outreach activities within the community.
- Support in the design and development of a robust resource directory for event participants.
- Coordinate and/or perform tasks required for grant funding, including budget tracking, budget development and preparing and invoices; prepares and submits reports, monitors measurable outcomes through data collection and analysis, and attends required meetings.
- Complies with productivity standards of the Agency.
- Establishes and maintains rapport and effective working relationships with clients, families, and community; works effectively within the Agency and community at large.
- Maintains knowledge of program standards and policies as developed by Villages of California, licensing and other governing bodies; develops personal and professional knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in in-service programs.
- Maintains overall confidentiality information regarding clients, families, and operations of the Agency (including media).
- Incorporates Agency philosophy and mission in all aspects of job performance.
- Maintains a professional relationship with clients, staff, and other outside stakeholders at all times.
- Exercises good judgment in the performance of duties and responsibilities.
- Attends all required staff training sessions in accordance with Villages of California and state licensing requirements, completes all training on time
- Attends and participates in program and all staff meetings
- Adheres to and promotes the Villages of California Mission, Vision, and Values while acting as a role model for others
- Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent in this position does not have any supervisory authority.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALS
- Bachelor’s in public health social work, behavioral health education health sciences or related field
- Experience in Mental Health preferred

Pay: $24.04 per hour
