The Physical Education Teacher at the elementary school (K-8) level is responsible for planning and implementing Physical Education activities, monitoring students, and evaluating student outcomes. Physical Education in the elementary school generally emphasizes sports-related skills, movement patterns, games, and fitness activities. The Physical Education Teacher records and maintains student information. They are responsible for communicating with all parties involved in the education of the student. This is a 10-month position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES:
- 1. Work collaboratively with co-teachers, coaches, staff and administration to plan and deliver an educational P.E. program in line with the mission, vision, and values of the Southeast Delco School District.
- Teaches knowledge and skills in physical fitness, health education, rhythms and dance, and individual, dual or team sports, utilizing curriculum designated PDE and other appropriate learning activities.
- Analyzes, demonstrates, and explains basic skills, knowledge and strategies of formal sports, games, rhythms, and fundamentals of body movement.
- Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to provide an orderly, productive environment in the Physical Education areas.
- Provides appropriate safety instruction and makes safety checks on equipment and field areas to ensure the overall safety of students.
- Evaluates academic and social growth of students, prepares report cards, and keeps appropriate records to include attendance reports, checklists, census forms, and other recordkeeping activities as necessary.
- Maintains control of storage and use of school property. Manage the Physical Education materials, ensuring adequate supplies and safe, working conditions of materials.
- Evaluates each student's growth in physical skills, knowledge and contribution in team sports.
- Communicates with parents and school counselors on student progress.
- Supervise and support students' social and emotional learning through sport and play.
- Support the building of a student play culture that values inclusivity, sportsmanship, and kindness.
- Administers testing in accordance with division testing practices.
- Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Building Administration.

QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor's degree in Physical Education and/or Health and Wellness or related field is required; a master's degree in Physical Education and/or Health and Wellness or related field is preferred. Active state-level licensure and/or certification or ability to obtain.
