Health Information Representative

Peoples Community Health Clinic, Inc. (Peoples Clinic) is seeking a team player to join our Clinic. Peoples Clinic is a Federally Qualified Health Center and non-profit health care clinic with deep roots in the local community and guided by its mission to provide access to affordable, compassionate, high quality health care for all, while helping to improve the health of the community.

Position Summary: Maintains, analyzes and distributes medical and dental records in accordance with the standards set by the Department of Health and Human Services. Performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission of Peoples Community Health Clinic.

Essential Functions:

• Maintains and reviews medical and dental records (Clerk function).
• Manages incoming calls to switchboard.
• Navigates release of information (ROI) regulations as it pertains to substance abuse and mental health diagnosis, and HIV treatment.
• Performs various clerical duties.
• Supports a service-oriented atmosphere in accordance with Peoples Community Health Clinic Mission and Philosophy.
• Works to improve work processes and outcomes including health disparity and quality improvement collaboratives.
• Follows policies and procedures.
• Develops and maintains own competence.
• Maintains a safe working environment and practices safe working habits.
• Assists in control of Peoples Community Health Clinic resources.

Qualifications:

Education

• High school diploma; courses in medical terminology preferred.

Experience

• Experience with EMR systems preferred.

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
