The Advisory Board on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (ABADA), the Alaska Mental Health Board (AMHB) are recruiting for a Health and Social Services Planner 2 position in Juneau.
What you will be doing:
Using systems data, implementation reports, evaluations, and public, stakeholder and advisory partner input, the Health and Social Services Planner II will coordinate planning and evaluation efforts to support and improve the publicly funded behavioral health system in Alaska. The HSS Planner II participates in and coordinates system planning efforts for AMHB/ABADA through meeting planning and preparation, research and preparing technical documents with an emphasis on alcohol and substance use disorder. The position works closely with Board staff and the various Departments in planning ongoing initiatives that support the Boards' mission, vision, and priority areas.

The working environment you can expect:The AMHB/ABADA office is located in Downtown Juneau, located near the Alaska State Capitol Building and within walking distance to various restaurants, coffee shops, and gift shops. A designated parking pass is included with the hire.
This position is a hybrid, home and office-based work in a fast-paced environment and travel to rural Alaskan communities via plane is required.

- Human Services: Knowledge of the concepts, principles, theories, and practices used in the planning, design, and implementation of programs that provide a broad range of social supports to individuals and families.
- Planning and Evaluating: Organizes work, sets priorities, and determines resource requirements; determines short- or long-term goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinates with other organizations or parts of the organization to accomplish goals; monitors progress and evaluates outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in health planning, health sciences, behavioral sciences, social sciences, public health administration, public or business administration, or a closely related field;
AND EITHER
Two years of professional planning experience in health or Social Services;
OR
Two years of professional experience in the administration, management, or development of a public health, health, or Social Services program.
