Head (VP) of Federal Government Vertical Market

This position will be Remote in any Major US City

Role Description

You will be the Head of the Federal Government Vertical Market for Smart Infrastructure (SI) in the US reporting to the Head of SI Vertical Markets. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of the SI US Federal Government Vertical Market Strategy leading to the achievement of profit, growth, customer, and employee satisfaction goals for this vertical. You will showcase your adaptive leadership style as you engage with your team and stakeholders, creating a culture of trust and belonging by making people development, collaboration, and diversity an absolute priority.

  • Directing marketing and research efforts, leading go-to-market strategy development and coordinating across business units, selling functions and shared services to execute this strategy and insuring KPIs like order intake, revenue and profit are tracked and met.
  • Designing, developing, implementing, and monitoring organizational strategic plans, marketing programs and omni-channel approaches to market that drive growth in revenue, market share and profit margins in the assigned Vertical Market and are aligned with Global Business Units to achieve their planned order intake, revenue, and profit margins objectives.
  • Managing ongoing analysis of the Vertical Market; identifying relevant threats and opportunities; understanding the competitive environment; anticipating trends and demands; recommending and executing changes to strategy, positioning, long-term development of high value, differentiated portfolio solutions to meet customers’ needs.
  • Developing relationships with customers and regional/country sales, execution, and marketing organizations to clearly understand customer needs and translating those needs into actionable requirements and Siemens solutions that can be scrolled and replicated across multiple accounts.
  • Driving assessment of growth opportunities, coordinating a range of internal stakeholders to screen potential opportunities, and coordinating appropriate sales and support resources to successfully pursue and win opportunities.
  • Representing Siemens and networking with executive and client leadership at industry associations, professional or community organizations for potential counterparties, advisors, industry resources, associations etc. to enhance business image, awareness, and success.

You will win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of in-depth comprehension/proficiency working directly with the Federal Government to include a proven aptitude for leveraging prioritized partners, contract vehicles, governance resources while ensuring Siemens compliance specific to Cybersecurity Maturity Matrix & Confidential, Unclassified Information and other, appropriate regulations.
  • 5+ years of a proven track record achieving/exceeding business objectives while driving results in a demanding/matrixed customer environment.
  • 10+ years of leading large teams (sales; marketing; business unit or offer specialists)
  • Willingness and ability to travel 20%- 40% both domestic and international (as allowable)
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 to 10+ years solid understanding of Siemens or similar Building Technologies or Power Distribution portfolio
  • 5 + years of a proven ability identifying Vertical Market opportunities and commercializing solutions.
  • 5 + years of executive leadership, negotiating and influencing skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple functions within the organization and with external contacts.
  • 5 + years with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with demonstrated confidence in decision-making and determining objectives and approaches to critical topics.
  • 5 + years of advanced knowledge of marketing concepts and strategy development.
  • 5 + years with a proven track record to identify market opportunities and implementing robust go-to-market and marketing strategies that drive tangible results.

The pay range for this position is $140,200.00 to $240,400.00 and is eligible for Sales Incentive, and the annual incentive target is 25% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
